Help
The system has options for simple and advanced search queries. The results of any particular search can be further narrowed with a set of filters that cover all elements of the bibliographic description standard. In a simple search, keywords can be entered in three ways. When a keyword or phrase is entered without restriction (free text), the system searches for all matches and prioritizes and sorts them according to the logic of the Elastic Search tool used. The spelling of the proper names of authors, translators and publishers are aligned with the merde forms in the DB and are as complete as possible. A simple search without limiters is also appropriate in cases where the user is not looking for something specific, but just wants to consult the widest number of entries relating to a given topic, person, toponym, etc. When searching for a keyword or phrase delimited by "quotation marks," the system gives an exact match to what the user requested. In this situation, everyone must make sure that the query entered is spelled correctly and matches an actual existing book. The third type of simple search consists of a root word and an asterix (*). It is used to find words with different suffixes and endings for gender, number, person and tense. Such an approach to the DB allows us to find the maximum number of entries on a specific topic or for a specific person.
A sophisticated search consists of an unlimited number of search input fields, which can be added and deleted at will using the "add filter" and "delete filter" buttons. Each input field gives the option of selecting an element of the bibliographic description to be searched: main title, parallel title, language of the parallel title, copyright, source of copyright, number of volumes, order of publication, place of publication, publisher, printer, etc. The individual fields have a boolean operator "and" which can be used to add more elements to the search. The sophisticated search can also be used to find a book by its reference number in bibliographic references. The "year of publication/printing" field is not provided in the complex search because it has been developed as a separate dynamic filtering button (scale).
The results after the search can be used in the form of a list or displayed through a geographical information system. In list mode, the number of search and navigation results is displayed at the top of the list, which can be set to display 25, 50 and 100 results as desired by the user. Results can be sorted by relevance, alphabetically, by author name or title, by year of publication or volume - ascending and descending. At the same time, the filters: author responsibility, place of printing, language, etc. on the right hand side of the results provide bibliometric information that changes dynamically according to the results obtained. In GIS visualization, the records are sorted by place of printing. In this mode, the system has zoom-in and zoom-out options on the map, allowing the results to be scaled.
The system has functionality for error reporting, submission of missing data, titles and whole records. Each irregularity or title submitted is reviewed before being posted to the system.
